Handmade books : Brenda's diaries
A few months ago I spoke about my new photography project involving a set of diaries I bought at a car boot. The photos below are mock up books I've been making using scans from the diaries.

Handmade Concertina Book
Miniature, handmade, double sided concertina hardback book that I created for a recent project. The book contains photographs I've taken on an old Olympus trip 35 camera and, within tiny paper pockets, scans of documents belonging to my Grandfather in the 1940s, that can be opened and folded out.
Seaside Polaroid
Scan of old Polaroid taken during a college project a few years ago. I love the colour changes and light leaks from the Impossible Project polaroid film.

Brenda's diaries: New Photography project!
I'm excited to be working on a new photography project! I recently bought 19 old diaries from a car boot sale. They start at 1925 when the author is just 14 and finish in 1958. I have been typing out sections of the diaries, on my Imperial typewriter.
A short extract from Saturday 2nd October 1948
"Just come to bed straight in soon after 10. Washed stockings, set hair etc. Now 10:45 but determined to try to get my diary going again. Know that I shall regret not having lovely times in writing."

Transient Collective Exhibition 26th May-28th May 2014
I recently collaborated with 11 photographers to organise, and hold an exhibition in the old ballroom at Antwerp Mansion Manchester.
My work focused on the temporality of nature. I photographed antique insect collections, butterflies that are captured, deprived of life and then displayed in such a way as to be preserved in eternal timelessness.
